BILDER.OBJEKTE.AKTIONEN
(Bilder.Objekte.Aktionen = Pictures.Objects.Actions) Emerging from an artists' cooperative dedicated primarily to experimental media art in the 1970s, we have evolved into a modern, professional media company. We have not forgotten our roots to this day, and have always remained committed to art. Videography is the combination of creative inspiration, creative teamwork and perfect craftsmanship. We give each film project its own visual language and an individual form of expression.
The focus of our work is the expressiveness of the film, respect for the subject, and the people involved.
Videography is teamwork, and so is the self-image of creative team at B.O.A. – A team in which everyone has enough room to contribute ideas, experience, individual skills and passion and thus create video film art together.

A colleague once said: The B.O.A. is home - and that hits the nail on the head. You simply feel at home here, are warmly welcomed and wonderfully cared for. A great team, a great working atmosphere, high professionalism and competence - that's what distinguishes B.O.A. for me!
Andrea Pohlei
B.O.A. has been a longtime, heck, decades-long professional companion - for good reasons. B.O.A. and B.O.A.-istas stand for professionalism, speed, innovation, thinking outside the box, a heart for art, culture and children, a wide range of topics, a pleasant working atmosphere, a delicious lunch and a marketplace for news.
Thanks for that and keep up the good work. B.O.A. - Best Of AllBirgitKünzl
The B.O.A. has been a professional and human home for me since 1994. This is not only a romantic feeling, but also stands up to purely factual scrutiny at any time. With my technical knowledge, which I picked up at the B.O.A., I annoy colleagues elsewhere because I see through their excuses.

B.O.A. und die Videofilmkunst
The origins
The gallery B.O.A. (Pictures - Objects - Actions) is founded in 1974 as one of the first producer galleries in Germany. Early on, it dedicates itself to the new medium of video with regular exhibitions of national and international artists such as Peter Weibel, Valie Export, Günter Brus, Stan Brackhage, Steina and Woody Vasulka, Tony Conrads and other pioneers of media art and expanded cinema. From 1977 onwards, workshops and sessions are organized in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts, as well as the University of Applied Sciences in Munich. This results in numerous projects that are presented at national and international exhibitions and trade fairs. Highlights: documenta Kassel (1977), Venice Biennale (1981), "Espaces" at the Centre Pompidou Paris (1982).
80s
From 1981 onwards, the gallery business increasingly gives way to the studio business, mainly with an artistic and increasingly documentary orientation, including its own distribution and sales. The artists of the B.O.A. Gallery are involved in numerous projects. By 1985, more than 60 own productions have been made: Full-length cinema productions, journalistic works and an extensive video archive, as well as multi-channel video works and the first interactive net art videos.
Move to Schwanthalerstrasse
In 1987, B.O.A. moves from Schraudolphstrasse to Schwanthalerstrasse, the current location of B.O.A. Videofilmkunst. The working method quickly becomes even more professional because newly-established private television stations (including tele5 and Eureka TV, now PRO7) are desperately seeking service providers for their productions. Within just a few years, an efficient and versatile operation is created, in whose studios, for example, the TV magazine of the Süddeutsche Zeitung is produced for 15 years. Significant productions are also made in the field of research and science, such as the documentation of the world's first endoscopy of the small intestine (in cooperation with the LMU) and many other internationally acclaimed films on the implantation of artificial eye lenses.
Own TV productions
Since 1999, B.O.A. Videofilmkunst has been developing and producing its own TV series for the educational channel BR-alpha: "musica viva - forum der gegenwartskunst", "kunstraum - forum der gegenwartskunst" as well as "volksmusik bäckstage". The productions are distributed through B.O.A.'s own DVD label (store).
As a producer, B.O.A. Videofilmkunst is also active, among other things, for the broadcast series "alpha - wissen kompakt".

DOK.fest Award of the SOS Children's Villages worldwide
B.O.A. Videofilmkunst has been involved with SOS Children's Villages worldwide since 2011 and oversees the organization's cinematic work. For the "DOK.fest Prize of SOS Children's Villages Worldwide", which was awarded for the first time in 2013, B.O.A. donates the prize money every year.
Art Gallery
In annually changing exhibitions, B.O.A. Videofilmkunst presents works by artist friends and companions such as Klaus von Gaffron, Monika Huber, Nils Udo, Wolfram Kastner, Joss Bachhofer or Horst Türheimer. The exhibition of Max Mannheimer received special attention and media interest. Under the pseudonym "ben jakov", the Holocaust survivor processed his memories in impressive images. B.O.A. Videofilmkunst produced several films with and about Max Mannheimer and so the idea for this extraordinary exhibition was born. As the only gallery so far, B.O.A. exhibited the works of Max Mannheimer, alias "ben jakov", who has unfortunately passed away in the meantime.
